We visited William’s kidney doctor yesterday and found out his kidneys are continuing to grow. This is very concerning as his body is not growing as quickly as the kidneys . Because of the enlarged kidneys, William is very uncomfortable, having a lot of tummy aches, not eating well and not sleeping well at night. Our hope is that his body will catch up before his kidneys become much larger.
His blood pressure is still elevated and we are now doubling the dose of his medicine to hopefully get this under control. His electrolytes are no longer stable and we have added a salt supplement 3 times a day to help with this. To help with his reflux we have started him on nexium and are seeing a GI doctor. We hope getting his reflux under control will help with his overall comfort and improve his feeding. If neither of these are accomplished then we will proceed with a Gtube so he can receive adequate nutrition.
Prayer requests:
-Kidneys to stabilize and his body to grow
-That all his medications would be effective: lower blood pressure, reduced reflux, stable electrolytes
-Improved eating
-Strength, wisdom and rest for Matchett and me
