This morning, when we got to the hospital, William had gained a pound from the day before due to water retention, and his IV had failed. Not wanting to start a new IV, the doctor wants him to begin to take in all fluids and nutrition by mouth. He has been eating well for the most part. They have upped his feeds from 30 mL on Saturday to 40 mL on Sunday to 50 mL today. They hope he reaches 60-70 mL by mid week in order to provide adequate nutrition and fluid levels. Please pray that he is able to keep up with the increasing amount of feeds. If he cannot they will have to figure out another way to provide him with fluids and nutrition.

Babies with kidney problems typically have trouble maintaining balanced electrolyte levels, especially sodium and potassium. William has had trouble maintaining his sodium, so please pray that his body can keep it in a normal range.

William had a repeat kidney ultrasound this morning that revealed his kidneys have not increased in size, which is a huge praise. Please pray that his kidneys would not grow on future scans.

Thank you all for the continued support and prayers during this time.
